The Global Geoparks Network by UNESCO

The Global Geoparks Network was established by UNESCO in 2004 aiming to promote protection of geological heritage and geotourism all over the world.
By the Madonie Declaration all members of European Geoparks Network became immediately members of the Global Geoparks Network.
Today UNESCO in close collaboration with European Geoparks and other international organizations endorses the development of more continental networks.
