The European Geoparks Network

Several European areas working together to conserve and valorise their geological heritage through the integrated and sustainable development of their territories, constitute the European Geoparks Network.

The Network was created to protect, enhance and promote geological, as well natural and cultural heritage of rural areas, through educational and geotouristic activities, offering high quality standards in services and infrastructure. Members of the network are evaluated every four years by specilaists of Network and Intrenational Organizations in order to ensure a high level of quality in all parks.

Up to now 35 territories participate in the EGN and also in the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network.
